What Is A Second Sip Garden?
At Second Sip Garden, we are passionate about creating sustainable home environments through our unique self-watering planters made from reclaimed glass bottles. Our mission is to transform discarded materials into beautiful, functional pieces that promote plant care while championing eco-friendliness and innovation. You can setup your garden very easily in just a few simple steps.

How It Works

01
Choose Your Plant
To use a Second Sip Garden planter, first choose a plant that can tolerate a moderate to heavy amount of watering. The soil will be consistently moist, so succulents will be overwatered and won't survive. Herbs love our planters!

02
Pot Your Plant
Once you have chosen a plant to go into your planter, you next have to plant it. To do this, fill the top part of your Second Sip Garden close to the top with soil using the provided soil packet. Do no pack the soil in. Keep it loose so that the roots have plenty of room to move around. Make sure the looped cord sits close to the top of the planter, but not reaching the surface of the soil. Pot your plant in the center and cover with soil.

03
Water Your Plant
Once your plant is properly planted, you can fill the reservoir with water. It is recommended to fill the reservoir just below the neck of the bottle. Be careful not to overfill the reservoir as this can lead to over-watering. The cord wicks water up to the top of the soil and keeps the soil moist. When the reservoir is almost empty you can fill it again. The reservoir will usually last about a week before needing to be refilled. The roots can be sneaky and try to creep past the barrier and into the reservoir. It's best to trim them before they take over the reservoir.
