Frequently asked questions
General
Absolutely! Seeds love to start in a Second Sip Planter. Since they don't have to be re-potted and moved around, they can settle in as they grow and live a happy life.
Roots are constantly moving towards water. Sometimes they will find a way to sneak past the barrier and grow into the reservoir. It is recommended to trim these every so often so that they don't take over the reservoir. This prevents the pant from growing larger than what the planter can sustain.
This all depends on the size of the reservoir and the type of plant used. Some plants need more water and will deplete the reservoir faster. The size of planter you own also makes a difference on when you will need to add water. As a general rule, check the reservoir water level at least every 3 days. If the water is almost gone or completely empty, then it's time to refill.
Second Sip Garden is based in Santa Monica, CA. Currently we only sell locally, but we hope to be able to ship our planters in the future. If you are interested in purchasing a planter, please message us using the contact form at the bottom of the page.
